Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take for me to hear back about my order availability?

We will be in touch with you within a day of placing your order to confirm availability and make arrangements for pickup or delivery.

How long until I receive my beef/lamb?

That depends on the availability of the selected cuts and where you live. If we are able to fill your order we will call you to arrange delivery within a week. We offer free delivery for orders over $100 within a 10-mile radius of Pittsburgh. If you chose to pick up your order at one of our convenient pick up points you can have your order within 1-2 days (assuming we have everything you want in stock).

How do I pay? / What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, checks and credit cards

When do I pay? / When is my credit card charged?

You don’t have to pay until your order is delivered. Your credit card will not be charged until you receive your order.

What if there’s a problem with my order?

Reach out to us and we will make it right. We want you to be happy and to be a repeat customer.

How long can I keep the beef frozen?

Frozen beef is considered safe to eat within 6 months.

What’s the best way to defrost the beef?

There are several options depending on how much time you have to do this. You can place the frozen beef in the fridge. Depending on the thickness of the cut, it will take between 3 and 12 hours approximately to defrost. The other, faster way is to place the vacuum packed beef in slightly-warmer-than-room-temperature water. A pound of ground beef can be defrosted in less than an hour this way. Thicker cuts will take a bit longer. To speed it up, change the water every 20-30 minutes to ‘warm it up’ a little.
